Our mission is to increase gardening knowledge for the general public and its members. To support and assist the Lubbock County Office of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services in providing the community with information on good gardening practices; and develop and enhance community programs related to horticulture.

Lubbock Master Gardeners are committed to being a source of inspiration. We aim to foster positive change in the Lubbock community through gardening. To support our mission, Lubbock Master Gardeners:

  •  Offer educational programs;
  •  Offer information through print and electronic media;
  •  Research and respond to questions from local gardeners, and;
  •  Help community and civic groups with gardening projects and issues.​

Lubbock County Master Gardener Association is a non-profit organization. It provides educational and volunteer services. It is affiliated with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. This service is an agency of Texas A&M University.

The program is designed to increase the availability of horticultural information and extend horticultural projects throughout the county. The Master Gardener program is one of the most effective volunteer organizations in the U.S., with over 95,000 members, but our Association is proud to be a member of the Texas Master Gardener Association, the largest (and best!) Master Gardener program in the nation!
