ABOUT
The Sow & Grow Seed Library & Exchange is a partnership between the Lubbock Master Gardeners and the Lubbock Public Library. The first seed library opened in 2019 at the downtown Mahon library location. Since then, three more seed libraries have opened at Groves, Patterson, and Godeke public library locations.

Who can take seeds?
Anyone! The Sow & Grow Seed Library is open to the entire community.
No library card is needed—just a passion for planting!
How many seed packets can I take?
We ask that you take up to 3 seed packets per visit so that there’s plenty to share.
Seed libraries are restocked monthly, so be sure to check back regularly to discover new varieties!
Where can I learn more about seeds?
Each seed library location includes free printed materials to help answer your garden and seed-related questions.

🌼 Donating to the Sow & Grow Seed Library 🌼
Can seeds be donated?
Yes! Seed donations are welcome—and encouraged!
Here’s what we accept:
- Commercial or retail seed packets
- Homegrown and locally harvested seeds
To help others grow successfully, please label your seeds clearly with as much detail as possible—especially the plant name (common and scientific, if known).
How to donate:
Drop off your seeds in any seed donation box at the Lubbock Public Library branches.
Don’t worry about packaging—Master Gardener volunteers will sort, label, and organize bulk seed donations.
Can I make a monetary donation?
Yes! Your generous gifts help cover the cost of seed envelopes, labels, and materials for packaging community-donated seeds.
